Amber was raised in Detroit, but moved to California for college. She was always interested in the creative arts, and followed her dreams to Los Angeles where she toured with a company performing in musical productions. After the production finished, she attended California State University where she majored in Theater, Dance, and minored Art History. Amber got her start in the adult entertainment industry in 2006 at the age of 22. Rayne says that her jaunt into Adult happened "when my contract expired [I] was pretty much stuck in LA. So I went to college and continued performing in mainstream, but became fed up with the people and the Hollywood BS. So I left and eventually figured I still wanted to perform, so I jumped ship and went to the adult industry." The mainstream work Amber was involved with consisted of mostly small parts, and not many notable cameos. When she realized that many of the things she loved about the theater existed in the world of porn, she decided to try it out. She found that she loved athleticism and connection with her costars, and she knew this was the career for her. Amber has worked with several of the most successful companies in the business, and her appearance in Wanted garnered her Best Supporting Actress nominations from both AVN and XBIZ. When asked whether her family knows that she is an adult performer, Amber stated, "They all know, didn't take them long to find out either. At first they weren't too pleased, but eventually (not even a week later) pretty much just let it be and are rather supportive. They just never want to know how my day actually went." Amber is a horse riding instructor and owns a horse farm. She is an avid hockey fan, and has worked to fund raise for lymphatic cancer awareness.
